Kay, go to Woodstock's downtown. Order up some wildbread (comes with marinara dipping sauce). I think back then it was $3.50. For dessert, get some fro yo from Bali's. Walk around downtown some, then head home to watch a DVD.
That's how we did cheap date night, which was pretty much every date night for us!
I took Janet to Village Creek one night with two lawn chairs and a picnic basket. We sat in the creek with our feet in the water and ate dinner and talked until it was almost dark. Great time and practically free.
I wish you had COSTCO, we love their samples :))
